In the İğdir area of Araç district in Kastamonu, the Zala Regulator and Hydroelectric Power Plant, owned by Ahmet Hakan Electricity Generation Inc., is situated on the Araç River. It features a 9950-meter open channel (trapezoidal) water conveyance structure and consists of three Francis Type turbines, with a total capacity of 5.760 MWm / 5.422 MWe and an annual production capacity of 16.256 GWh. Operations commenced on May 16, 2014. The energy generated is transmitted to Araç TM via 36 kV ENH and falls under the scope of YEKDEM (Renewable Energy Support Mechanism).
