In the Arac district of Kastamonu, at the Iğdir location on the Arac River, the Samatlar Reg. and HPP, owned by 1461 Trabzon Electricity Generation Inc., consists of a 11800-meter open channel (trapezoidal) water conveyance structure and three Francis Type turbines, with a total capacity of 6.030 MWm/5.783 MWe and an annual production capacity of 17.712 GWh. Operations commenced on December 27, 2016. The generated energy is transmitted to Arac TM via 36 kV ENH. It falls within the scope of YEKDEM (Renewable Energy Support Mechanism).
